SHSMD Announces 2017 Award Recipients

CHICAGO, IL, August 24, 2017 – The Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD) today announced Jeffrey Kraut, executive vice president of strategy and analytics for Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, New York, is the recipient of the 2017 SHSMD Leadership Excellence Award.

The award is the highest honor a member can receive from SHSMD, a Professional Membership Group of the American Hospital Association. It recognizes the best and brightest professionals in healthcare strategic planning, marketing, public relations, communications, and physician relations, who, throughout their careers, have:

  • Contributed innovations in their field
  • Enhanced their profession
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities
  • Achieved strong results for their organizations

SHSMD Rising Star
SHSMD also announced Julia Yoder, director of public relations and marketing at Brookings Health System in Brookings, South Dakota, has been named 2017 SHSMD Rising Star. The recognition honors those in the healthcare strategy disciplines under the age of 40 who are making meaningful differences in their profession, are highly successful within their organization, and are on a trajectory for future success.

Awards will be presented at the Society’s annual conference, SHSMD Connections 2017, in Orlando, Florida, on September 25.
