Part 1: New and Emerging Data Sets
This module covers how hospitals and health systems can effectively utilize various data sources for strategic planning and marketing. Part 1 focuses on leveraging state, national, and third-party data to enhance clinical and financial data usage, while Part 2 emphasizes the evolving role of strategic planners and using longitudinal patient data to identify growth opportunities and respond to market disruptions.
Part 2: Advanced Data Applications for Strategic Growth
This module delves into real-world case studies to demonstrate how to apply the insights from Module 1. Learn to distinguish genuine growth opportunities from misleading ones, refine your analysis for greater specificity, and use data to support or challenge executive team proposals. The module also covers practical applications of data in essential business functions, such as referrals management and business operations, and explores strategies for analyzing the outpatient landscape to uncover new opportunities.
Part 3: Data Visualization and Storytelling
This module demonstrates how to use Business Intelligence (BI) and geographic information system (GIS) tools to build strategic growth plans and identify service line opportunities. It emphasizes the importance of visualizing data to draw meaningful insights and creating compelling narratives for upper management. The module also focuses on understanding the “why” behind the data, conceptualizing its meaning, and effectively communicating insights through storytelling. Health care strategists will learn to frame data into stories that resonate with their audiences and support strategic growth initiatives.
Part 4: Rapid, Market-Specific Strategic Decision Making
Often, organizations get bogged down in the mire of analysis paralysis, incessant stakeholder buy-in meetings, a “shiny object” approach to prioritization, and/or cookie-cutter strategies across markets. This final module will provide insight to help you make strategic decisions quickly, based upon unique market factors and national health care trends.
Dates and speakers will be announced soon. Module descriptions may be updated as details are finalized.
