A Communicators’ Forum – Sharing COVID-19 Resources and Ideas
AHA and SHSMD Webinar
Thursday, April 16, 2020
12:30-1:30pm CT / 1:30-2:30pm ET
As COVID-19 continues to unfold, hospitals and health systems across the field are scrambling to develop, execute and adjust their communications plans. There’s a lot we still don’t know about the novel virus and the situation is constantly changing, making it difficult for communicators to keep up.
Smart approaches to communicating during this health care crisis are happening all around us. When communication is executed well, it helps manage people’s expectations and fears, and influences positive actions.
To help communication teams in hospitals and health systems, the AHA and SHSMD have released a COVID-19 Communications Collection that includes messages and tactics from organizations across the country. This online resource focuses on four areas: internal messaging, community messaging, media messaging and ready-to-use messaging and materials.
Facilitated by SHSMD members Alan Shoebridge of Salinas Valley Memorial Health Care and Ryan Nagdeman of Rush University System for Health, this free webinar for hospital and health system communicators will jointly explore useful examples created by others and gather your communication ideas for COVID-19.
