What our Members Say About the Value of Committee Participation
“I’ve volunteered for a number of tasks with SHSMD over the years. This year I audited an online course and provided feedback. Not only was the content interesting, it was gratifying to help make future seminars even better. I was pleased to see how seriously AHA/SHSMD takes their responsibility of providing its members useful, high quality information.”
“I have this to say about my service on the SHSMD Education/Editorial Advisory Committee: I received WAY MORE than I gave. The opportunity to meet and serve with other SHSMD members, the exposure to current issues and curricula, and the privilege of helping to shape SHSMD offerings for the entire membership, are just a few of the benefits I received. It was a wonderful volunteer experience and I’m very grateful I was selected to serve.”
"Thank you for allowing me to serve on this committee. I really enjoyed the process and am thrilled I was able to help shape this year's track presentations. I'm happy to serve on the committee again next year."
"It gave me a lot of insight into how much work goes into preparing for the conference! I enjoyed serving and would happily do it again."
"I always enjoy being part of this process. Thanks for including me!"
"This really gave me a glimpse into all the behind-the-scenes work it takes to put the conference on every year. I'm indebted to all past volunteers!"
