In this edition of Futurescan, we hear from eight subject matter experts who are on the forefront of actualizing new strategies for the advancement of health care in this country. They cover such diverse areas as managing the growing Medicaid population and the social determinants of health that impact patients’ wellbeing, sustainability strategies to mitigate climate change and its effects, lowering the cost of care by using technology and moving it into patients’ homes, and redesigning work to meet the changing demands of our shrinking health care workforce. To frame these articles, we hear from an expert in health care finance who sets the tone for our current economic reality and the role government plays in our future sustainability.
